Transcript of Tasting Notes for Villiera Wine Estate Down to Earth White
This is a white wine blend from Villiera which is in Stellanbosch in South Africa. It’s made by the Grier family who are renowned for their fantastic winemaking skills.
It's a Sauvignon/Semillon blend. The Sauvignon gives you a real crisp, green flavour and the Semillon adds a fantastic depth. It smells green if you can describe a smell as a colour. It’s all gooseberry and elderflower. And then in the mouth, it’s sharp; it’s got lots and lots of fresh crunchy flavours.
It’s a really fresh, refreshing wine. Fantastic for just drinking on its own on a summer’s day or with seafood, fish, anything where you can get away with a sharp, acidic wine. Pasta is fantastic; something like spaghetti vongole this will be brilliant with.
