Chateau Cazat-Beauchene Bordeaux Superieur Cuvee Exceptionelle 2000

2000 was a phenomenal year in Bordeaux. In order to get the best from the exceptional harvest, Lionel, the wine maker at Cazat, picked individual grapes as they reached perfect ripeness; he invested in all new French oak and aged the cabernet and merlot grapes separately for about 12 months. Then, after blending and bottling, he allowed the wine to mature resulting in a rich, smooth, harmonious wine with perfect balance of fruit and wood, flavours of balsamic and prune and a long, satisfying finish.
